Working through my Tom Holt collection. Just finished Snow White And The Seven Samurai, and re reading How To Paint Your Dragon. Nice easy going books, perfect for lazy reading in the garden (when I'm likely to nod off in the sunshine).

My favourite Tom Holt is The Portable Door.

I'm pretty much always re-reading one of the Wheel of Time books. Especially now that I have them on my phone.

Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell. Enjoyed the series on BBC, figured I might as well try the book when I saw it.

What's it like? :?: I'm assuming it's pretty good since you are rereading it an all.

Yes and no, I'm rereading all my books to get rid of some to make room for more. It's about the painter Vermeer and one of the Maids in his house, Griet. She ends up modeling for the painting that the book is titled after wards. The funny thing is, Tracy Chevalier wrote another book, call Virigin Blue which was much, much better, but this was the one that had a movie made of it. ((Not saying Girl with the Pearl Earing was bad, but it is just par. Nothing to really write home about, but it has been six years since the last time I read it.)) Virgin Blue had time jumps between our time and an earlier historical time period that I can't recall off the top of my head.

But I'm on to Regeneration by Pat Baker, which is about WW1 poet Sasson and his time with Dr. Rivers. It is amazing.

Last weekend I read Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch. In it a policeman discovers that magic exists when he takes a witness statement from a ghost. I wouldn't recommend looking it up on-line because every site that I've seen it mentioned on gives spoilers.

Currently re-reading The Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx. Which I must admit is sort of like watching the movie Requiem for a Dream and has that same horrific sense of watching a car crash in slow motion. Not for light or easy reading but I do recommend it to expand your experience of the human condition. Nikki Sixx also donates part of the proceeds to Running Wild in the Night.

Since my husband is using my tablet to study for an exam, I was reading Game of Thrones. Now I am reading the Great Gatsby since I didn't have to read it in high school. I like 1920's - 1930's writing anyways.

I'm reading Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell (not the comedian off of QI!) at the moment. It's a good read - lots of call-forwards and -backwards, to the point that you'll read a word and go 'Hey, wasn't that mentioned...' and end up flicking a couple hundred pages back just so you can go 'Ah-HAH! IT WAS!'

I started reading it after watching the movie, though it took me forever and a day to track a copy of the book down (in part because my boyfriend insisted that I track down a copy that did not have the movie cover. Alas, this was impossible). The differences between the two are startling enough that I'm enjoying it immensely, especially the differences in Somni~451's story.

I got a Kindle last year for my birthday. I go through paperbacks like crazy though.
