What are you reading?

Postby Codefox » Thu May 07, 2009 1:13 am

We have all sorts of other "what are you doing" threads...

Tonight I started Star Wars : Outcast (Fate of the Jedi series). Excellent so far, about halfway through!

Normally I read Fantasy but lately I have been into reading tech books. Right now I am learning web design. The next book to be read will be about PhP and MySql.

Thinking of a career change and it's cheaper to read books about Web Design and programming than it is to take formal classes until I know forsure that is the direction I want to go.

Dark Lord by Ed Greenwood and I don't recommend it to serious readers. :| The concept and the cover is good but that's all that it has going for it.

At the moment, an old 'Dragonlance' novel I just stumbled across in one of my storage boxes, 'Lord Toede'. It is, oddly enough, a very well-written farce, which is pretty far outside what you would expect from an official Dungeons&Dragons novel.

Right now I'm reading Nick Laird's Utterly Monkey. I'm a huge fan of his wife (Zadie Smith) and have been meaning to read it for a while now, and am just now getting around to it. Afterward, all the Doctor Who novels starring Martha Jones.

Really good! Urd is re-taking the exam for Goddess First Class Unlimited that she didn't pass when she was much younger. I don't want to spoil the result, but it's adorable as usual.

And the volume ends with Peorth deciding she needs to get K1 do vocalize his love for Belldandy, and the only way to do that is for him to practice saying it--of course, Bell walks in just as K1 is emphatically declaring "I LOVE YOU!!!!!" to Peorth. Cue volume 31.

So far its pretty interesting. It's exactly what the title of the book says. The original P&P story, and zombies roaming around reeking havok. Lizzy is amazing with a blade.
