I think that some of us are still waiting to judge Mom because we know so little about her. After all- if Dad had done this and made that face? It'd be pretty reasonable to assume he'd be expecting a buxom young woman to meet them at the airport. We just don't know about Mom yet.

I agree that this is a very cheshire cat smile- but the question is still "does she realize he's actually seeing a man?". And I hope that she does. I do hope that this is a positive arc, helping Trevor realize that he can be himself with at least one of his parents (maybe both!).

From the look on her face in the last panel, Mom ships it.

He explicitly told her, and I quote, "I just really want to see him. He's very important to me. " So I think she's pretty aware that it's not a buxom young woman.
