If I've learned anything from TV, she doesn't care what gender he's putting it in; she just wants grandkids to enter the equation somehow.

And I honestly think she knows. Trevor was hilariously transparent in asking for money. If he's said he was meeting a female friend, she'd expect a girl, but he's so terrible at pretending it's just a friend that there's no way he's hiding the gender as well.

Coming from a family where this sort of teasing was very common, it looks just like friendly mocking to me. Nor does it seem odd to me that a parent would want to meet their son's significant other, especially when said significant other is significant enough for the son to swallow his pride and beg the mother he doesn't see often for a loan.
