Slow release

I'm disappointed and concerned that Candi is being released so slowly. It's down to once a week. I dont want the comic to die. I'm sure Starlings has many demands on her time and I can understand that. I miss the old frequency...

I hear ya. I think one of the last ones took nearly 2 weeks to come out. It sounds like things are super busy lately...but also that the comic is simply much lower priority now. I can't blame Starline for making that kind of call but I agree that I miss the more frequent days.

Everytime I tell myself I'm going to spend more time on Candi, I end up getting a bunch of freelance work I gotta take of. I do plan on making more of an effort to get Candi back up to at least 3 days a week though... not sure when though. ::sigh::

You've seriously got a lot on your plate; and unlike a lot of comic creators, a lot of what you do is online so it's very clear you're busy. Maybe put out a request for guest comics; or doing sketch fillers in lieu of full comics if you want to start back up with regular updates. Just don't overload yourself.

Real life takes priority over the comic. Don't wear yourself out.

Life happens and things change. Starline has been putting Candi online, apparently, since June 25 2004 - not much shy of TWELVE YEARS ago.

In twelve years, priorities can shift. A lot. I've read several webcomics that ran a lot less than twelve years and them just stopped updating with no notice or explanation. Some did worse than that. One of the best got rebooted into something much more boring, and then stopped updating a couple months later, and then the original (good) comic was removed from the website in order to not draw attention away from the boring one that wasn't being updated either. Another had a good story going and then the author posted a couple pages that were just walls of text bringing the story to something that technically constituted a close... not a good close in any sense and some of the characters were barely recognizable, but a close... and stopped.

Candi's still running.

As a fan, I think we have to remember the person behind any comic has no obligation to do anything just because of fan demands. I would rather a slower release than lower quality anyway. Gotta remember Starline has bills to pay and Candi generates only a pretty small percentage of that income (I'm guessing).

Starline has been really good at making sure she has a regular update (even if it's slowed down), and provides explanations as to why she can't update in any given week.

If there's anything to be disappointed about, it should be on placing unrealistic expectations on an artist who is providing us with her comic to read for free.

I'm just glad that Starline is getting work (bills have to be paid).

As for the comic, I read lots of others so I have plenty to keep me occupied.

{edit} She's managed to keep updating despite having a busy life. If you're reading this Starline, do you have any time management tips for someone who is trying to get their own project off the ground?
