I agree that he knows exactly what he's doing now. As for your original statement:

Um, Chris has always been attracted to Candi. Enough that Jess noticed and used Candi as bait. And after his breakup with Jess, Chris has known exactly what he is doing and where he wants to go with this.

I'd have to check the timelines. There seem to have been 3 or 4 instances where he's caught off guard (at least one that I remember was his room mate assuming he'd been with Candi) that seem to suggest that at least at one point even if he had some underlying attraction to Candi, he wasn't entirely sure where he wanted to go with it (if anywhere). I thought at least one of those instances was after his break up with Jess but I could be wrong.

A part of me hopes that Candi starts to feel it's obvious that Chris has some interest. Candi then decides to pursue him as she claims that's what she prefers. Then Candi finds out that Chris likes Candi a lot but doesn't want a relationship in that way. It is a super long shot that is almost definitely never going to happen, but I think it would make for some really interesting development with Candi.

I'm not a fan of how Candi's hand is positioned. I guess if you are looking at it from a three-quarter angle, it makes sense, but the art seems off somehow

I want to mention that this strip shows how much Candi fundamentally trusts Chris. She just accepts that this unknown substance in the cup is something he thinks she'll like, and free of roofies or other improper additions, and tastes it without hesitation.
