So we can assume Chris bought her the hot apple cider after she agreed to come meet him - unless he was just that confident that she'd agree and bought it beforehand.

Hot apple cider is good though, and I can definitely see Candi liking it. And yay for no lactose attacks!

It might be a Northern thing. Here in New England it's a seasonal specialty but when I was stationed in the south and south west, I don't remember stores making such a big deal out of it. I don't think I ever had it once in the south. Though that could just be my experience. Given that they're in Flordia (?), I'm not too surprised she hasn't tried it. At least not hot anyways. Now Candi, try some hard cider and see how much better it can be

Lived in Florida for 20 years, so I can confirm - hot drinks (aside from coffee etc) don't tend to be as popular. Winter temperatures rarely get that far below 70, and when it hits the 60s people bundle up like it's Alaska.

Most of the bodegas I went to (and related bakeries, restaurants, etc) didn't have many hot drinks. Tea and coffee were usually on the menu. There were fruit-based drinks, though the only one that I can remember is Jarritos (Mexican company, fruit-flavored soft drinks) and of course actual fruit juice. Cold drinks, in other words!

Yeah, not gonna lie, but I had hot apple cider for the first time like... last year. And I'm 25. It's just not as common closer to the equator (socal for me, Florida for Candi).
