I'm curious why you don't like Thad so much, even when the other person is clearly in the wrong. Or is it just because he's a guy?

As to those speculating the date did go bad....I think if it went badly, he'd actually be MORE likely to want to get it off his chest.

However, if he had sex with the other girl, THAT would be something he wouldn't be so eager to tell Katia.

Katia, why'd you have to go and make that rude, unnecessary comment to your friend :(

Eh, we'll see. There are plenty of reasons why Thad might not want to talk about it even if it did go well. Some folks consider that kind of talk to be very personal.

Also, I'm not ready to call this manipulation. As Thad pointed out just last comic, Katia tends to talk without thinking about how others might feel.

I'm of similar mindset to this; Katia's proven she has foot-in-mouth syndrome with the best of them. So regardless if the date of Thad's went well or bad, it's his business and he may just feel it's not right to talk to someone else about it that isn't the person he's dating.

Wow, Katia, sneaky... very sneaky... XD lol

And yeah, don't people like to talk about really awesome or really awful dates? I think in this case it was only okay. Those dates... you don't have much to talk about.

If I was Thad, I'd be more than pissed at Katia. How is this any different than her asking "How big is your penis? You won't tell me? Must be small then." His shocked look is probably more the result of Katia continuing to be disrespectful than her assumption being correct. I'd probably tell Katia to find some other sucker to be a punching bag for all of her emotional and mental insecurities revolving around sex and relationships. If anything, if she's so completely hung up on it that she finds herself completely unable to act on her own desires, maybe she should talk to a therapist instead of former sexual partners.

EXACTLY.

You shame someone into forcing them to tell you, just to defend themselves.

I mean come on, Katia can't be THAT dense.

I kind of wonder if this is a defense mechanism that she used to engage in regularly when hurt and is now resurfacing when interacting with Linda (whom she views as like her past self) and feeling hurt by Thad. Honestly, Thad has seemed a tad harsh the last couple encounters with her, here and here. He may be right but she may feel he's being a bit brutal with him. That doesn't justify her actions but may help explain how she's STILL pushing things even when she knows he really doesn't want it. *shrug*

Oh Katia, Sweetheart. The Correct response when you ask a friend something and they don't want to talk about it is to nod , and say Sure no problem and let them open up when they are ready, unless its exceptional circumstance, of which this is not. As for Date, I'm going, with "The date went well and Thad is trying not to hurt Katia's feelings". Thad knows that Katia is jealous and flailing a bit with the Dating is Awesome! thing and is trying not to rub it in. Also. Who ever wants to be that douche bag who tells all his ex girlfriends how much more awesome their new girlfriend is.

Sleeping with someone or a date that fizzled out would be the two things that make Thad reluctant to say anything, except Thad doesn't strike me as the type of person to sleep with someone on a first date. We saw his first date with Katia, and he doesn't seem like the type that would have a fling, because that would hurt the date (because he's not serious about her yet) or Katia (since he has feelings for her even though they're not exclusive).

That might be true with your buddies. A neutral date is usually considered a bad date at the start of a relationship. Katia is also his ultimate crush, he's more likely to share with someone he has no feelings for (like Candi).

Yes, I think Katia's still too naive to be this manipulative. If it were me, I would be saying something like that to "tease" my friend, but not in a mean way. I doubt Katia is experienced enough to know how to tease guys, so it's likely this is a case where she's being blunt and doesn't realize it.

I'd say Thad's been pretty transparent about why he doesn't want to talk to Katia: it feels weird to him. I don't think there's really any more interpretation needed. In fact, knowing that Katia's jealous, his reluctance to talk about his date might be indication of how well it went. After all, if starts telling her all about his amazing date, while knowing she's jealous of his ability to go on dates to begin with, it'd just make him out to be a braggart. It's like having a friend who's jealous of your ability to eat ice cream because they're lactose intolerant. If they ask you how your trip to Ben & Jerry's was, are you going to be all "oh my god it was amazing, let me tell you about it in excruciating detail!" or decide to spare their feelings? I think most people would choose the latter, which leads me to believe Thad's date may have gone better than Katia expects.

Tad had sex with Katia after just having lunch with her one time. I wouldn't call it out of his character to have a go in the first date.

Especially if he was feeling fairly rejected by Katia.

But you know what, maybe Tad SHOULD tell her if the date went really well, just to wake her ass up and show her that it's a two way street.

In fact, perhaps her assumption that the date went really badly was actually HOPEFUL on her part.

She doesn't want to think he had a good time with someone else.

If that doesn't get Thad talking about his date, then he's not going to talk about it.

I'm not sure why people are so willing to call Katia a bitch. Is she being manipulative? Mildly. But Thad is a big boy. And she's not standing over him with a baseball bat.

I haven't called her a bitch. but its certainly a bully tactic. Thad has made clear he does not wish to talk about it. and so she should leave it be.
