Well, I can get behind this. It is odd talking to someone you're on break with about your love life. Is she storing up things to blackmail him with or is she just a sort of weird kind of voyeur?

I never had sex after the first date (or after any date, until I was married), but it seems to be the norm on many college campuses... it wasn't at mine, but at other campuses it really seems common.

As for today's strip... My shiiiiiiiiiiiiip!!! :cry:

... I still am a hardcore Katia/Thad shipper.

They aren't on break. They aren't exclusive, but he just already had a date when she last asked him.

Actually Katia is open minded enough that voyeurism is something she might be willing to try to see if it does anything for her. Or she may know herself well enough to know that it wouldn't. But that isn't quite what this is. I think she's just curious. If he's really into the girl, best to get the bad news out of the way. Katia doesn't flinch from things. Well, except for boys.

In the comic I read, there's a fairly strong implication that your "either" isn't correct as Katia did. Can't answer for the comic you read.

Maybe. Maybe he found that he wasn't that interested. Maybe Thad doesn't take things that fast or prefers to develop an emotional connection. Maybe things went wonderfully and he doesn't want to admit it to Katia because he cares for her. Maybe Thad was so awkward he messed things up and the girl wasn't as tolerant of awkwardness as Katia. Just saying there's a lot of jumping to conclusions.

Oh, I'm definitely not abandoning ship, I'll sink with it! It just seems like, since Katia shut him down a while ago, that the ship isn't going to work out in canon... I could be wrong, but that's the impression I'm getting. :sad:

I'm going to assume that a lot of people here haven't really had an open relationship before or generally been involved with someone they're romantically interested in but not exclusive with? Even if Katia is jealous of him going out with other girls, her asking about his date is not exactly suspicious activity here - and if you care about a person then you tend to show interest in their other dates. Even if she's kind of uncomfortable with it because of her feelings, there's no reason for her to try and push past that out of genuine interest and caring about him as a person. I'm not really sure how people are jumping to any conclusion other than her generally being kind and interested in other people.

There's not a lot of evidence that she's really going to regret asking the question other than the fact that she does have feelings for Thad, and this is her first time really dating "around", so to speak. Even if you're dating and seeing more than one person, the idea of one of them suddenly becoming unavailable due to monogamy or something else can STILL make you sad, and understandably so, because you still have feelings for the person and not getting to spend time with them sucks.

When my boyfriend and I were still open, I was seeing a couple other people. I didn't necessarily want to commit to them or bring them into our relationship, but that doesn't mean I was any less disappointed when they were seeing other people exclusively or started dating another girl. But that doesn't mean I had some ulterior motive when asking about their dates, either. Being open was a fairly new to me on a personal level (not as a concept) and in order to get past my jealousy or general discomfort I made a point of asking about the other people we were seeing, because I couldn't really get comfortable with it if I chose to ignore it.

As far as sex after the first date goes, it's neither here nor there. Personally, I've run the gambit from sex before the first date to no sex at all, but it doesn't really matter. Even if he had, I doubt Katia would be the kind of person to judge him for it or think any less of him, and it's not as if it would really impact their ship haha
