I think it's actually a testament to the pacing of this comic that I still think of Katia as a rather new character! There are webcomics out there that are far more glacially-paced, and it's only really noticeable if there isn't anything interesting going on - which is never the case with Candi.

Basically like superheroes, but with more sparkles and frills. Oh, and magical girls tend to have an indomitable spirit, like someone here mentioned earlier.

Katia would be an amazing magical girl IMO.

Yep. And the spirit in which they are indomitable is cheerful, optimistic, and friendly. Often they reach out to and befriend their enemies... I think, though the shows most famous for that are actually aimed more at adult men (seinen) then young girls (shoujo). Seems ironic, but the shoujo shows like Sailor Moon and I think Pretty Cure are all about destroying evil aliens (and romance and girl-friendship and such) while a seinen show like Nanoha is more "most of your enemies just need to be understood and redeemed".

Oddly enough, the only magical-girl comic I read regularly technically doesn't feature a magical girl.
